Video Transcription
Use an in and out motion when cutting with the cast saw to avoid staying in one area for too long and overheating. Begin cutting the cast with the cast saw. Cut a line from the side of the foot to the top of the leg. Do the same on the other side of the leg, cutting a line from the side of the foot to the top of the leg. Using the cast spreaders, spread the cast on both sides of the leg where you made the cut lines. Using the cast scissors, cut the stockinette out around the top and bottom of the cast. Pull the top piece of the cast off. Cut the stockinette and padding down the middle. Remove the cast.
Video Summary
The video demonstrates the proper technique for removing a cast using a cast saw, cast spreaders, and cast scissors. It emphasizes the importance of using an in and out motion when cutting with the cast saw to prevent overheating. The process involves cutting lines from the side of the foot to the top of the leg on both sides, followed by using cast spreaders to open up the cast. The stockinette is then cut out around the top and bottom of the cast using cast scissors. Finally, the cast is carefully removed by cutting down the middle and pulling it off.
